What to Drink With It

Single-origin coffee

Flat white, cappuccino or latte at £3.95, all on our Coban Guatemala single origin. Espresso is £2.90 and a cortado £3.50.

Tea and chocolate

Six loose teas at £3.75, including Scottish Brew, Mojito Mint and Lemon & Ginger. Hot chocolate is £4.00, with cream or marshmallows for £0.50.

For the little ones

Babyccinos are £1.00. We keep highchairs and a toy box, so brunch with a toddler is genuinely doable. More on our families page.

What time is brunch served at Cafe Vera?
There is no brunch window. Everything on this page is available from the moment we open at 9am until we close at 5pm, seven days a week. If you want eggs on sourdough at half past three, that is fine.
Do I need to book a table for brunch?
No, walk-ins are the norm and most people just turn up. If you are a larger group or want to be certain of a table at the weekend, you can reserve one on our booking page.
Do you do bottomless or boozy brunch?
No. We are a daytime cafe, so there is no bottomless prosecco and no boozy brunch here. What we do is proper coffee, freshly baked pastries and cooked breakfast plates in a room you can hear yourself think in.
Where can I get brunch in Morningside?
Cafe Vera is at 26 Morningside Rd, Edinburgh EH10 4DA, a short walk from Bruntsfield, Marchmont and the Meadows. We are open 9am to 5pm every day and serve the full brunch menu throughout.
Is there anything for vegetarians?
Yes. Toast with eggs, beans or cheese, the Triple Cheese Melt, the Goat's Cheese & Chutney toastie, the Belgian waffle, the scones and most of the pastry counter are all vegetarian. Our allergens page lists vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options in full.
Can I bring children?
Yes, and plenty of people do. We have highchairs, a toy box, babyccinos at £1.00 and gelato, and the room is buggy-friendly. There is more on our families page.
Can I work from here over brunch?
Yes. We have free ultrafast Wi-Fi and the cafe is quiet enough on weekday mornings to get through a couple of hours of work with a flat white in front of you.
